Last night as a case in point, we had dinner with 6 other people making 8. We are relatively safe all living in the Gold coast in a community apartment type setup. But if there was a case undetected then any of us could be at risk.

If I was in Victoria, I would be much more stringent until it is under control again.

If there is no vaccine, then everyone will have to work out their new normal and what level of risk they undertake.

But I can't see the point in pretending it doesn't exist, isn't a health problem and accepting it when there is a chance of a vaccine or a successful treatment not too far away.

Personally, I think my wife and kids would be ok, maybe not the grandparents. But I wouldn't want 2 weeks or longer in intensive care. Or to die of a blood clot caused by the infection and have someone say well he had a stroke and only died with Covid.

I don’t hold out much faith in there becoming available an effective vaccine.

I stand ready to be corrected, however I’m led to believe that in the last 20 or so years there hasn’t been one successful vaccine for any of the multitude of Covid Family Viruses....... so I don’t hold much hope for that outcome.

I also will not be jumping in line to have a vaccine that hasn’t had the timeframe of testing and double testing that other vaccines have......... this little guinea pig will be at the back of the room watching for some time yet.

I’m (currently) healthy enough to afford that luxury.
