Today struggling to shiftily deflect questions on the coalitions emissions reduction policy and costings.

Morrison today sprouted to the media that unlike Labor he is not introducing a carbon tax then pressed by reporters said that the cost to the taxpayer of the coalitions emissions abatement policy costs several billion dollars. Its taxpayer money so the reality is that by thir own perverse definition it is a tax on carbon.

Labor is not introducing a direct carbon tax.

The point of difference with the Labor policy is that Labor has a more ambitious emissions reduction
target but Labor's policy permits companies to buy abatement credits to meet their targets. The liberal policy is to use taxpayer money directly, a spin off from Tony Abbotts ineffective Direct Action plan.

The coalition appears to be not be serious about climate change and appears to continue to be hostage to the Abbott conservatives on the issue. They will let our farmers down as climate change is going to wreak havoc and will let
the whole country down because Australia a normally innovative country is going to miss out on renewables focussed industries that can create jobs and provide export opportunities around the world.

The Coalition is pandering to the conservative dunderheads and ignoring the great mass of our population that want serious action taken to mitigate the consequences of climate change.

Thank heaven the election date is closer with each passing day.
