    you can argue anything you want to treefer. why not answer my questions?

    when the federation was formed and the constitution written there was only a single reference to political parties, and this related only to replacement of a resigned/deceased Party member in the Senate being replaced by another party member.... thereby giving parties a stronger hold on the Senate instead of holding a by-election as is done in the HoR.

    there were many independent MPs in early parliaments. and most parties were small. govt was much more in keeping with developing consensus across each House. coalitions were necessary and included independents. coalitions were at times fluid and changing. it was a dynamic which enabled democracy that worked.

    now pls get back to my question: "do you have any evidence that decades of Party politics have solved the housing problems?"
