Thanks Taurean7 for the extensive post. I guess at least for the moment potential applications would be focused on external use then. I agree that it would seem impractical - unless sheep are being treated with other external treatments on a daily basis anyway. In that case a supplement to that product could work. But I don't think that the wool of sheep is treated on a daily basis - maybe someone who knows about farming could say more. I know about kikkoman but haven't heard or found anything at all in the past two years.
I still think the findings about FGF5s are interesting. I wonder if they could lead to further improved products in the future.
