The warrant was still falsely obtained. The officers still face charges for false statements and falsification of records. The warrant issuing officer was fired and still faces multiple federal charges.
The point of this decision is that the officers opened fire when the boyfriend fired at them.
The officers entered via a fraudulent warrantless entry at 12:45am. The boyfriend fired at the unknown intruders.
That fact that the police shouldn't have been there stands.
