agree with the sentiments - completely unnecessary by-election. unfortunaely, they all do it - i can't think of many who stay on after losing an election from any side of politics. costell, kennett, keating, fraser, whitlam, hawke, gorton, macmahon and the list goes on and on
in the UK and the USA beaten leaders do tend to stay on - Heath stayed on the back bench for years - but not in australia
how do you suggest we keep someone on whj doesn't want to be there?
