These inland ships (as they are described) carry 350 passengers and 120 cars running off 10 ton lithium batteries. The article continues to say that all Europe's 7,500 inland ships will be replaced over time with battery powered electric engines under Europe's environmental rules. Ocean going ships will follow with battery advances they say.
So, guys, how much lithium are they going to need for SHIPS? You are not going to need a bigger boat, as they say in 'Jaws' parlance. You are going to need a really big ship load of LITHIUM. How many ships are there? You tell me
