But on a serious lithium related note, as these solar, wind and battery projects increase in scale, cost of same will just keep falling, thus accelerate uptake.

Bloomberg New Energy Finance said in a research reoprt, is now showing benchmark Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) for onshore wind of just $39 per MWh, down 46% on a year ago, and for solar PV at $41, down 45%. By comparison, coal comes in at $68 per MWh, and combined-cycle gas at $93.

They said the scale, efficencies and thus falling costs is having a powerful effect – it is changing perceptions, in particular the associated risks for those considering financing new coal, gas, nuclear projects. Investing billions in 25 year old out dated tech is a key concern, given the new tech is already here and stacks up economically.

Case in point, RIO have divested all its coal assets over the past year or 2, suggesting the writing has been on the wall for some time. IMO, billions invested or to be invested on the clean energy tech has passed the point of no return, dare I say it, the tipping point, the economics just make sense, not to mention the benefits to our environment.

We know China is all in, now India making serious moves in the same direction, combined population of approx 3 billion. S Korea, Japan, Europe are all chasing hard to catch up to China.

There is serious talk about Solid State Li batts could be mainstream by 2023, and my understanding is that these batts use more lithium than current Li batt tech, thus more demand.

How can anyone forecast future demand, it seems that the numbers and demand pull is changing daily, and IMO, will continue to suprise on the up-side.
