Well, thanks for your reply Baba. I guess your view reflects that of a few involved parties which might try to justify shorting to others based on that logic. But it certainly doesn't hit the justification or fairness 'stay button' with many smaller investors like myself who would totally disagree with the 'benefits' you claim. However, you are right about one thing: I doubt regulators will be made to end the practice in my lifetime or willingly, despite other reasons & benefits for doing so.
