re: two possibilities... For what it's worth...
Firstly, the company called the trading halt and not the ASX...apparently, their is more news regarding the earlier announcement.
Secondly, the interest in the stock was picking up again just prior to the trading halt...not the norm for that particular time of the day, given the previous volume and percentage activity. Perhaps even more importantly, there was a sudden burst of interest in the options, where for the first time all day, they went into premium, with some very strong buying.
The traders in the heads may have obscured the underlying trend reversal that was occuring...but the action in the options, which would have been mainly professionals and insiders, was quite obvious.
It is this action in the options that encouraged me back in just prior to the halt, after initially deciding to bank my profits and leave it alone for the rest of the day.
