That article is just such a breath of fresh air ... no pun intended ... many thanks for posting the link.

People are supposed to learn from other's mistakes ... but Labor/Greens here in Australia are either so besotted with green they can't reasonably evaluate or they choose to misprepresent it.

Germany is emerging from a decade or more of commercially failed green businesses ... businesses that had no imperative for commerciality whilst consuming opiate like government subsidies.

Now the UK is coming to a similar realisation.

One disturbing difference here in Australia is not only are Labor/Greens rushing in with blind, unjustified faith in renewable technologies, but they have also set out to turn the nation against the very low carbon powergen option that would allow an orderly transition into a low carbon economy ... gas.

Imo, the only sensible option for MEL after gaining the upcoming NO VOTE is to morph into an entity to set up and operate the perfect model for regional low carbon powergen, ie wind, solar and peaking gas ... the case for has everything going for it, including social licence, community engagement, community amenity, technical viability, significant green cred and most importantly, commercial viability.

A CEO with this vision and determination to build a groundswell of altered but positive, engaging and consultative thinking is needed. And of course, for this to happen, retaining some or all PELs is essential.
