Wouldn't it would be refreshing if the company recognised that it actually has retail shareholders—and that those shareholders have made genuine financial commitments based on previously held trust, belief in the technology, and the promise of long-term value? Instead, what we continue to witness is a company that appears to operate primarily in the interests of insiders—those with access, proximity, or the benefit of free stock allocations.
This certainly isn't how a public company should function. It's beginning to resemble a quasi-listed private enterprise—public only in appearance, but operationally insular, designed to protect and reward those within its inner circle. Those individuals that have insight into the company’s trajectory and a sense of what’s coming. Shareholders, on the other hand, are expected to accept vague assurances and unspecific optimism as sufficient. It's not good enough!
Yes, we’ve all heard the repeated lines: Sean Hehir insisting we’re in the best position the company has ever been in; Antonio Viana reiterating that a single deal could swing us into profitability. But where’s the regular follow-up? Where’s the detail, the roadmap, or the data to help shareholders build a rational, forward-looking opinion for where this company is headed?
Why is it that we only see the company on an annual basis here in Australia? Why won't they commit to regular investor updates that have some substance? I'm not talking about the old podcasts that were canned and predictable and, dare I say, highly annoying to listen to due to their clumsy construction and benign questions that the CEO already prepped the answers to. I'm talking about real investor facing interaction where information is shared on a regular basis that has some substance to it. Warts and all is fine. A clear picture of where the company is at including the high and low points. It's pretty normal stuff really.
Loose language and positive rhetoric aren’t enough. At this point, shareholders need more—clarity, transparency, and tangible updates that demonstrate progress. These aren’t unreasonable demands. They are the basic expectations any investor should have when investing hard earned capital into a publicly listed company.
So my question is: When do you think we might see them take shareholders and their financial commitment to being invested in this company seriously?
