Greed is a funny thing - and has been around for a while
what seems to me that has changed is more of a short termism kind of greed
people seem to think about instant bottom lineism now
not a lot of thinking 20 or 50 years ahead
so we end up with shit ideas like just in time management to give maximum profit
and instead of having stock on hand - then get a supply issue and the whole game falls over
or Boeing, who went from a culture of excellence to a culture of ‘I don’t want to know’ she’ll be right’
and that led to supposedly quick profit and Wall Street darling - but ended up killing people, planes falling out of the sky and almost total destruction of brand and respect
Enter chemistry to kill bugs and control weeds and we have an unmitigated disaster on our hands
