I'm pretty confident that Zeehan Zinc's action of putting up their flotation plant for sale means they are gone as we know them now. They more or less said so in their recent announcement.

Without their own flotation facility I can only think of two Companies who could potentially treat ore coming out of Comstock. Namely Oz Minerals or Intec. I doubt whether ZZL can leverage much of a deal out of Oz Minerals ... a bit like a flea and an elephant, the flea doesn't stand a chance.

On the other hand a deal between Bass Metals and Zeehan Zinc has the potential to be very strategic to both parties especially if Intec are willing to process pre concentrates through the Hellyer Mill. The Intec's treatment facility at Hellyer has about 35% spare capacity and additionally Intec owns roughly 23% of Bass Metals. It would appear that ZZL's acquired flotation faciltity, which never got commissioned, might be surplus to their needs under such a deal and that may be the reason for it being on the market.

It would appear that ZZL are very tight for cash. The Creat Group have defered the timing of their next payment due under the terms of a convertable note loan to ZZL. The clock is ticking for ZZL and I reckon they need to do some sort of a deal real soon and I think Bass Metals/Intec are in the box seat. Intec stated quite clealy that their purchase of almost $4M of BSM stock a few months ago was a strategic move ... it would make sense if such a deal plays out.

The recent sale of 500 tons of ore by ZZL to Oz Minerals will keep the wheels ticking over for a bit longer, thus buying them a bit more time ... but for how long we don't know.

DS was very tight lipped in response to veeone's question on Intec's Q & A forum about ZZL's flotation facility. I think there is more to this than what meets the eye, however even if there are in depth negotiations in progress there is no guarantee as to the final outcome. A number of permutations are possible.

I rather fancy Bass Metals, with Intec's support, are in the box seat in what could be a win/win situation.

    Cheers
