    Good to axiom respond swiftly..

AXIOM REFUTES SASAKO’S WILD CLAIMSAxiom Mining Limited has refuted the claims contained in the article by Alfred Sasako in the Island Sun newspaper today that the Australian-owned mining company owes millions of dollars in royalty payments to its landowning trustees on San Jorge and millions of dollars in non-payment of Business License to the Isabel Provincial Government.Axiom General Manager Phil Tagini says: “The article in the Island Sun newspaper authored by Mr Sasako claiming that Axiom owes millions of dollars in royalty payments to the landowners of its Mining Lease site on San Jorge and millions of dollars in non-payment of Business License in 2018 is totally false, misleading and defamatory and the company deplores the unethical and unprofessional behaviour of Mr Sasako in continuing to publish malicious falsehood against Axiom.”“It is obvious he (Mr Sasako) is writing to an agenda not backed by truth or facts in the public record and he should disclose to the readers of the Island Sun, the payments he has received from companies in opposition to Axiom,” Dr Tagini adds.Dr Tagini says the truth about any Royalty Payment by any natural resource extraction company to its landowning trustees, let alone Axiom to its Landowning Trustees of San Jorge, is that it is a payment derived from revenues generated from exports.“The fact of the matter is that Axiom is still to be issued an Export Permit by the Minerals Board and therefore it is utter nonsense for Mr Sasako and ‘frustrated landowners’ spokesman Mr Lyndon Bako to claim that the company owes millions of dollars to landowners in Royalty Payments.“Royalty Payments are payments made to landowners from the proceeds from any export by a natural resource extraction company. To date Axiom is yet to be granted an export permit and hence the calls made by our landowning trustees to the Minerals’ Board not to delay giving the company an export permit. Our landowning trustees know that the longer we are denied an export permit, the longer they will wait for their royalty payments and other benefits that are due to them from export revenues. On the issue of Business License, Dr Tagini says: “The fact is that Axiom is yet to be granted a Business License by the Isabel Provincial Government and as such it is yet another utter nonsense for Mr Sasako and Mr Bako to claim that the mining company owes the Isabel Provincial Government millions of dollars in non-payment of a Business License. He says Mr Bako, whom Sasako has attributed quotes in his article to, is not a Landowner Trustee of Axiom’s Mining Lease site and therefore what he (Mr Bako) said does not represent the standpoint of Axiom’s real landowning trustee groups who are united to see Axiom commence full operation when it obtains of an Export Permit. The Axiom General Manager says Axiom calls on the Island Sun and MASI to put an end to this malicious falsehood campaign against it by Mr Sasako in order to protect their integrity.Ends///SOURCE: AXIOM MEDIA
