As much as I enjoy reading The Australian, I doubt that article was the main reason for the pullback today. Unless there was a similar news article about 2/3 of the rest of the market that I missed...
August makes sense anyway. Likely cheaper funding for the purchaser as interest rate cuts globally should be more realistic by then.
Personally I'd rather they kept 100% of it and just delayed larger dividends/buyback for a small period. Wouldn't surprise me if that was the end result anyway. One good coal bounce over a hot European summer and we're funded.
