If 1 billion people on average spend 1 hr having sex and 30 min relaxing after sex... then if you look into all their houses at a random time by infrared satellite then you will find twice as many people having sex as relaxing after sex.
so if you do a survey and at a given moment twice as many people are having sex as relaxing after sex then it implies that on average people spend twice as long having sex as relaxing after sex
This assumes that on average people have sex once and only once before relaxing after sex. If you do it a few times before relaxing the conclusion will need to be adjusted.
