Even if Figure8 is now only worth a thirtieth of that, it's still got a value of US$10 million. Just be patient. The current share price is way below Appen's real value, so getting bought out now isn't necessarily a good thing. If the financial data at the end of August is good, the price will gradually climb back to its true value.
Personally, I'm not a fan of how Innodata and TELUS are trying to buy Appen. They're going for a confidential approach to snatch up Appen at a dirt-cheap price. If they went public, Appen's major clients would jump in to protect their data, driving up the acquisition price. Sure, looking back, TELUS's offer seems pretty good now, but back in May 2022, who could've predicted the impact of ChatGPT on Appen or losing the Google contract?
