From the results as Announced, The only one making money out of aviation at the moment is the aviation fuel provider in Australia, Ampol (and I think Royal Dutch Shell) also provides the aviation fuel down there.
So AMPOL CEO Matthew Halliday is probably a more appropriate CEO than Alan Joyce, whose tenure as QAN CEO has been a difficult one.
Matthew Halliday should take over the reins of CEO from Alan Joyce, Then Qantas’ problem would be Ampol’s problem.
