Not really. Qantas have had some pretty serious emergencies over the years which everyone has walked away from unscathed. They also had a system failure that caused a crash in a European airline but the QF crew landed normally and everyone walked off the aircraft oblivious. So it is a combination of numerous things that builds a solid safety record plus some good old plain luck. I would suggest that the benign Australian weather and flat terrain are also working in their favour if you look at the sort of stuff they operate into in North America and Europe.
