they tried to sell the mining tax at a time when all sorts of schemes were blowing up in their faces, if they had a sovereign wealth fund that was untouchable it would have been a winner, like what the Norwegians have
the other big problem was convincing people that any return over the bond rate was a super profit, which is patently ridiculous
lost opportunity, a great shame
