This notion that the unemployed is the problem is rubbish. Figures show that unemployment benefits are a fly poop in the scheme of things. I’m all for people working and paying their way, but the figures don’t lie. Yes trim govt , yes stop waste, yes get full employment, but also look at the biggest drain on the budget , pensions and the entitlement attitude of those who have paid a bit of tax, which I might add was spent years ago on the highway around the corner, the hospital down the road or the school their grand kids go to. Fix the super system , and clamp down on the pension means test. Society is ageing and cannot afford this stuff. It will take govt with very large kahunas to address it, but it has to be addressed. Crying out for lower taxes is really dumb.
