You see this kind of thing play out quite a bit with some broker clients expecting special treatment and then huffing and puffing and selling their shares down because they don't get their way.
While it's annoying in the short term - it's an extra tick to management not catering to these short term flippers. Have seen it plenty of times where as soon as the seller is done, the share price climbs and the seller if left counting how many bags they left behind.
