Firstly, Wisdom is not silent. It often calls out. Trouble is, not everyone listens and takes heed.
Secondly, everyone is here for different reasons and at various age groups. A fair few people on HC have their own businesses and are able to combine a bit of HC at the same time. As for the money aspect, i agree it should not be your soul purpose in life. Otherwise IMO it would be a sad life. It should be used simply as a tool to help achieve other goals.
I think the most successful D/T don't say too much on HC and go about their daily routine. They spend alot more time in research - backtesting - the mundane stuff. Not for everyone. Nothing wrong with working. I love it. Also agree there should be some form of satisfaction of a job welldone. Not always possible.
The braggers i am not worried about. What goes around comes around. Very simple philosophy.
If people want to brag, let them. Don't judge them or others for the reasons they are here. Thats something that is personal and should be kept as such.
IMO your focus should more about the reasons why you are here. Not everyone elses.
