CCI Holdings was the major shareholder in bulk commodities handling software provider QML. However as part of the recent board changes at CCI the new board decided they would be better off selling the investment and using the money to grow their own business. Consequently CHL only holds a very minor shareholding in QML at present.
As far as rival coal testing firms go there are 2 competitors to CCI: SGS (a large swiss based global coal testing firm) and and Aussie firm ACIRL which is affiliated with the Herman reserch laboratory (HRL). CCI's new CEO used to be the CEO of ACIRL, so no doubt they have a good knowledge of their competitors.
CCI has the lions share of the coal testing market through it's ongoing partnership with BHP the bigest player in the aussie coal sector.
