Great paper and links make this report worth reading. I have not yet read all the links but I found this recent presentation as a good insight in to the long term use of HREE as commodities ie large volume, reliable and essential resources.
I do not see this as the foretelling of the end of HREE usage. We are only limited by the scientists imaginations for application. At this stage though scientists can not produce new elements - Dy et al are not going to go away unused.
