I think the stimulus helped somewhat though the reality is the Chinese stimulus was of greater importance. I do worry that the "hangover" of the helicopter drop of money will cost many jobs down the track, as the bill must be paid. But it sure made Rudd popular in the interim, it's easy to hand out $900 cheques, not quite so to ask for the money back later (with interest).
