The US is in such a mess after Trump that there must be a desire to try and fix everything at once - Covid deaths, the vaccination roll out, unemployment, business closures, domestic terrorism and extremism, divisive disinformation campaigns, a devastated agriculture sector, trade and export problems, and half a dozen other major things.
In terms of managing the chaos of Trump, Biden is sticking to his game plan though. Have an idea of where he wants the country to be in four years, then work back from that. It's going to be a hell of a bumpy ride though.
Before the US election I argued that the Presidency might be a poison chalice. The next year will prove or disprove that. But a solid start.
