Thats a load of absolute rubbish - policies do matter. In the last election the ex union hacks Shorten and Bowen promised to alter the arrangements around franking credits which particularly impacted who had retired. The Grey vote took one look at what the ex union hacks proposed and collectively said get stuffed.
Also Shorten lost huge votes from the Queensland mining regions because of his policies associated with the human induced climate change cult theory. If those policies were actually implemented the mining regions thought their jobs a livelihoods would be decimated so they also said get lost to the ex union hacks.
