This is accurate, altitude sickness starts around 2,500m, but it’s only 20% of people at 2.5km. Most people will be fine even at 3,000m, with some mild symptoms the first night. If all Dug has is that an LKE leader maybe got some mild symptoms then lol.
It gets a lot more difficult at 3600+ at La Paz, but a lot of people are fine there too, even the first night.
