The longer he can string out and stall making a commitment on this issue, to my way of thinking isn’t a sign of Dutton not knowing if he’s opposed to or supportive of Albo’s Voice.
His procrastinations in stating his position on this topic is just basic political best practices from the unit 101 syllabus.
I could bet my left nut that his personal position would be that the Voice is a joke and a gift from the political gods and a halfwit opposition PM but he needs to offer/explain his Political Position at some point.
From a political perspective, his position is secondary to his “timing” of his reveal.
Obviously there’s a certain point where his lack of clarity as to his position on the topic will impact him in an unfavourable light.
Any opposition leader worth their salt knows this regardless of left/right.
Dutton knows that it’s better to leave the Voice Spotlight on Albo so the public only have Albo to focus on.
It’s always better to give the opposition as much opportunity to shoot themselves in the foot trying to explain their own ideas than to try and explain it yourself to the voters.
Once he steps into the spotlight to state his position the voters attention is divided.
