It is no use making judgements about whether Liberal or Labor waste more money or which is more inefficient while in government as in those matters they are exactly the same. Same applies to which party is the most corrupt, they all have plenty of skeletons in their cupboards.
I think the reason for growing cost over-runs is the increasing regulations they all keep legislating which often add significantly to the cost of doing anything with no noticable improvement in the way the thing is done. The governments then have to comply with their own regulations lol and real services drop while associated paperwork increases. Give it another ten years or so of growing regulations and the entire country could grind to a complete halt.
