Matt747 suggested SP could go higher if TO..

IMO, once rail and port sorted out, SP could go higher due to potential of infrastructure shared cost with explorers/producers (IMIC/NKOUT, WAFM, etc..) at proximity to the Mbalam rail and port infrastructure.

The reason is quite simple, they are mainly magnetite player at this stage and they can't economically justify to build the infrastructure on their own, hence they depend on SDL ...

This is the case for IMIC(NKOUT) and West African Minerals WAFM (explorer/producer) ...

    http://www.proactiveinvestors.com.au/companies/news/29445/afferro-mining-says-nkout-pea-indicates-project-is-economically-viable-29445.html

..Afferro Mining says Nkout PEA (Preliminary Economic Assessment) indicates project is economically viable ...Its estimate assumes production of between 15-35 million tonnes annually (mpta) and funding costs of between US$2.5 billion and US$3.9 bln on a shared infrastructure basis.

Afferro added it had already received "significant" interest from potential partners to fund the project with talks ongoing.

Third party access has also been confirmed by Government of Cameroon in the joint infrastructure vehicle with Sundance Resources, which is developing its own iron ore project at Mbarga in Cameroon.

Permits Djadom and Lélé permits, next to Mbalam ....

The contiguous Dja and Djadom permit areas lie to the east and north of Sundance Resources’ Mbalam project, which has an Inferred and Indicated Resource of high-grade haematite of 775 million tonnes at 57.2% Fe. Historical aeromagnetic data indicate a continuation of the total magnetic intensity signature eastwards from the Mbalam project into the Dja and Djadom licences.

The Lélé permit area lies to the west of Mbalam and similarities exist with the geology of Afferro Mining’s nearby Nkout project, which has an Inferred and Indicated Resource of an indicated resource of 1.2Bt at 32.9% Fe and Inferred of 1.3Bt at 30.3% Fe.

From "Iron Ore Review – Where to for the West African juniors?" report (Feb 2014)

The outlook for the West African junior producers against this back drop ...

Projects that have a large DSO component based on high grade haematite provide the most economically viable option for juniors in this space. The case for haematite has become more compelling against a backdrop of large low cost supply coming out of the Pilbara.

The reality is that a number of projects that are with the listed juniors are still based on magnetite with an intermediary “haematite” resource.

    (SDL)...
The Sundance project has sufficient high grade DSO to make the economics of the rail work. The project is being watched closely as a number of other mainly magnetite projects are waiting for development opportunities once a transport link is being put into place.

Projects such as Nkout will benefit from the rail and should IMIC be successful in achieving a strategic partner for the project could contribute towards rail development – below are the scenarios put forward in Afferro’s PEA on the project.
