Most professionals and/or wealthy business migrants can easily obtain a permanent residents visa for Australia SB2000.
It is only the lower level of foreign workers or visitors who are issued with a temporary work visa.
I see our government is considering allowing unskilled Pacific Islanders in on temporary work visas to pick fruit etc. Since these people are paid about A$10 a day in their own countries and would think A$30 a day was fantastic I can just see the government loving it as they erode the living standards of the poorest Australians who earn about $100 a day doing unskilled work even further.
