So ... either a competitor adopts Novonix technology via JV or royalties or take-over. Or ... as someone else pointed out on the forum, Tesla buys Novonix and holds IP for both processes, crushing any chance of competition.
The only way Novonix can fail here is if DPMG somehow proves to be extremely inferior to Maxwell, (which I don't think it can) during the scaling up and refinement process. From what I understand, I don't think it will be the case.

I don't think you understand what Maxwell dry tech and DPMG do. Maxwell dry tech is for assembly of battery whereas DPMG is for manufacture of the battery material.
