As the sole start-up Australian miner in its namesake country, India Resources Ltd is a genuine pioneer that claims to have a foothold in a mining sector set to power one of the fastest-growing economies of the new decade.

India Resources (IRL), which listed in 2007 as part of the Michael Kiernan stable, reopened the Surda copper mine in November of the same year. With a market cap of $9 million, IRL has a seven-year contract to mine Surda under an agreement with
the assets owners and former operators, Indias largest copper producer Hindustan Copper Ltd. Just over two years into the contract, India Resources has exceeded production benchmarks set by Hindustan.
