Looks like the shorts are being used to suppress the sp more than anything - despite up to 60% on any one day, overall the total shorts has remained constant so maybe just selling to themselves.
Have to ask the question why is this the most shorted stock - is it because it has the furthest to fall? Can't see it going much under $1 based on historical data.
Think this level of shorting is more historical than anything - they have got themselves in so far don't have much of an exit plan and so are just doing more of the same. On the other hand could turn around very quickly.
As they say, time will tell.
