Bowen has said that as a solar panel can harness energy from street lighting at night then the obvious conclusion is that eventually we don't need the sun at all once we get enough energy stored in batteries the system will be self perpetuating (we build more street lighting)... of course if there's a systemic collapse we're still going to keep some coal around to kick start the process all over again
