If the fine doesn't hurt, why impose it?
Why should a parking fine, issued by a local council, HURT? It's purpose is to be an irritant , something to remind you of the law.
The purpose of a fine is a deterrent, so the rich should pay more for their infringements.
I am not asked to fill out a financial statement before my parking/traffic fine is assessed. You talk rot.
The current system forces wayward lads outside the law. They build up fines beyond their capacity to pay so they become "outlaws". I have no sympathy for hoons, but I'm not sure upping them to an "outlaw" achieves any purpose.
Ned Kelly and the Eureka Stockade "bandits" are heroes of the left but you advocate forcing others down that dangerous path. Why? Is "Taxes" the only answer needed?
