"Their Intention" is totally subjective and in my view they do not want more shares otherwise there would be substancial notices showing an increase.
And if the major holders are the major shorters then why will there be a squeeze? They will have no urgency to buy back as there will be no "outside pressure" (stock lenders etc)
IMO this whole short issue is a non event, there is no way I would buy based on a potiental squeeze. On top of th eabove if it is hedge funds htey could very easily be short LYC long XXXX so if XXXX moves in a similar way then again no squeeze.
