re: if this was a peace march, Hmmm... IMHO there is more going on regarding the 'no war' rallies than simply a bunch of people wishing to send messages to their government representatives.

At the deeper level there is vast angst and unease over a host of issues including war, terrorism, failing economies, corporate malfeasance, globalisation, unemployment, the ever increasing divide between rich and poor, etc ...

IMHO the protests were just as much about populations expressing unhappiness over these issues as the prospect of war with Iraq.

Politicians need to read the mood of the mob ... large numbers of people have had enough of economic rationalism and the pain it means to societies.

As one sage once said "the peasants are revolting" ... (sic)

Capitalism has always been voracious and has been let loose ... bad idea world !!!

At any one time, 5% of the world's population are known to be sociopaths ... the odd one ends up as a serial killer but the a large number are attracted to and capable of heading up large corporations.

It is no secret that Middle East nations and particularly those with predominantly Islamic religious followings have not shared in the growth picture of other emerging economies.

The terrorist issue is more about a lack of inclusion than anything else.

Islam is hurting due to inability to embrace the 21st century and like the recalcitrant child needs help and understanding ... terrorism is the threat if we don't.

    We have a choice ...

In Oz our demonstrations are more about a growing unhappiness with Howard conservative agenda which has changed the lifestyles of ordinary people forever ... and the growing unease from not having a choice.

Here we need a choice ...

This is only my view ... read the red stuff.
