Any grants or freebies given to first homebuyers is nothing more than a spruik to get them into debt servitude for the next 30 years, and also pushes prices up - although the banks and government/s know this already but it's not in their interests for people to not be indebted.
When house prices return to a level when the average wage can service a mortgage and raise a couple of rugrats then housing is too expensive.
