GZ, the stock market use to be where you invested in companies for a reward. Cap growth or divvy.

Now whilst the brokers would try and tell you this is still the case, from observation it's merely a tool to strip money off the people the brokers are trying to sell to.

I can tell you three things that would fix our markets.

1) Charge EVERYONE a fee per trade. Not an ASX subscription so the big guys can trade countless times per year.

2) Ban bot trading / algorithmic trading.

3) Ban shorting. At the least naked shorting.
