HB touts that the mask uses patented technology. We knew this already, however, there's been no sign of the patent.

I believe that I've found it. The application # with the USPTO is 16675983, titled "MULTI-COMPONENT FIBERS AND USES THEREOF"

The reason that I believe this to be the patent is due to the following wording:

"It is also possible to incorporate one or more antimicrobial or antifungal materials into or onto a fiber described herein. Non-limiting examples of antimicrobial or antifungal materials that may be used in some embodiments described herein include inorganic, organic, and/or metal-containing antimicrobial materials such as materials comprising silver, copper, and/or zinc, and quaternary silane-based antimicrobial materials. An additive can also be used to provide a “smart” fabric or textile."

Great. The only problem that I have with this is that the patent doesn't belong to Ecofibre. There are 3 inventors listed, one of whom is Jeff Bruner (Texinnovate owner prior to the acquisition). The applicant (owner) is 'Quantum Materials, LLC'.

The issue I have with this is that unless some kind of contract has been signed, we are at the mercy of Bruner as he can recall our rights to the technology at will, and can also use it as a bargaining chip, essentially holding us hostage. I'd raised concerns previously in this post about him offloading the less desirable business to us, whilst holding onto the more desirable (and a direct competitor to Hemp Black) Quantum Group, as they appear more modern and also have this patent.

If you ask me, Ecofibre should have purchased both Texinnovate, as well as the Quantum Group. Perhaps they will in the future. I certainly hope so.
