    I am not sure you have grasped the understanding of compound interest. Compound interest generally works if you are putting more and more money in, allowing it to gain equity over the long term. Check out this compound interest calculator (https://moneysmart.gov.au/budgeting/compound-interest-calculator). I want to stress, LONG term. You will see in this calculator that 1 year is the bare minimum time input, therefore I usually run with a 5-year average.
    You can google the equation, but your above example will have NEA outperforming drastically compared to the index fund you are hailing.

    On a side note, I have no idea what the point of your new threads are. Talking and listening to a professional and accredited financial advisor may be your best bet moving forward. I wish you the best financially and personally, but I don't have time to continue responding to your posts.
