Ive heard this Matthew quote twice in the last few weeks, from my mum and from someone on here. I think it is quite fitting.
We will be at some sort of crossroads this century. I am of the opinion (or camp) people have slowly but surely become less violent, however we seem to be reaching a bit of a climax where the world is becoming too small. We are kind of running out of time to solve our differences. Whether your religious or not, does it not worry you?
The amount of power in the hands of humans increases faster than the rate we are becoming less aggressive, and we don't have really anywhere to run. Idiotic governments worldwide do very freakin little to address this problem. There doesn't seem to be even one country on the planet stepping up?
The concept of every country arming up whatever they can afford is the equivalent of guns being legal in the USA. There isn't any difference other than scale.
Im not religious, but im not gonna lie, it would be much easier if Jesus just plain came back and whooped people. Alternatively, I think an option later in this century may involve some sort of manipulation of genes related to aggression etc. Doesn't sound great but what if it can work? it might take half a century to agree on but im not sure there is any way around it. I just don't have much faith in humans.
