Why not? All they have to do is buy and hold.
Obviously, they get a better result if they buy better at the right time. The stock started at 20c and it has had a compound rate of return or around 13% p.a. Even in the last few years, say from mid-2020 it's more than doubled.
I'm reasonably sure if someone bought today they'd get a 10% pa. rate of return or more. Plus some franking credits.
It's a lot like saying BHP isn't a good investment. It's been for a century as far as I know.
