Re the new AMG bead product. I think it was after the AGM last year when the question came up during some general conversation, asking if ADO were using their own or someone else's bare beads as the base.
It's also clear ADO aren't using the magnetite particles mentioned in the bioseparation blog based on the size, as the M&G coated magnetite particles are 110 nm in size, compared to the AMG magnetic beads which are 1 µm magnetic beads (9 times bigger).
What the cost difference is, I wouldn't know? but logic say I would be no where near 100 time cheaper, as both Merck and Bangs have had a similar M&G coated product in the market for a couple of year but just haven't marketed them. Had the cost been such a differential, plus all the other advantages, you would have though they would have pushed them more.
This is not a criticism of your post or ADO products, just trying clarify things for the newer follower who may not have dug as deep into the research.
