Okay PP, I’ll say this plainly — your response is exactly what I expected when someone refuses to examine their own foundations in light of what is actually written. That’s your choice, of course, but constant deflection doesn’t help you grow in truth — it only reinforces the walls that block wisdom.
You continue to show disdain toward anything you label “Protestant,” as though slapping that term on something instantly discredits it. That’s not how truth works. Just because something is repeated across Protestant groups doesn’t make it wrong — nor does it make me Protestant for agreeing with Scripture where they might also agree. That’s a weak argument. In fact, there are many Protestant groups that align with Catholic teaching on other points — does that make you a Protestant? Of course not. So please stop labeling everyone who disagrees with your institution as “Protestant” — it’s a lazy tactic that avoids dealing with the actual issue.
I asked a very direct and fair question, which you keep sidestepping:
What tradition of men do I follow that is not written in Scripture?
I’ve asked this numerous times. You’ve accused me repeatedly of following man-made tradition, yet you have not once provided a single example. Meanwhile, I’ve listed dozens that you adhere to — from praying to saints, calling priests “father,” changing the Sabbath, celebrating Easter and Christmas on pagan foundations, to confessing sins to men and elevating Mary in a way Scripture never teaches. All of that is documented, and none of it can be found instructed by Yeshua or His disciples.
So again — I ask you directly:
What tradition do I follow that is not found in the Word of God?
Please, no more deflection. Just answer the question.
Also, I’d like to point out: Yeshua Himself rebuked the religious leaders of His day for following the traditions of men over the commandments of God. So let me ask plainly — if someone today holds to traditions that override what is written, is that not the very same error?
Yeshua said:
“And you annul the word of God for the sake of your tradition.”
— Matthew 15:6b, TLV
I don’t say these things to fight, but to challenge you to really think. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about Protestants or Catholics or labels — it’s about truth, and whether what we believe is founded on YHWH’s Word or man’s tradition.
If we can keep our dialogue focused on what is written and avoid the insults and assumptions, then maybe we can sharpen one another — not because we belong to this group or that group, but because we both claim to follow the same God. That’s all I’m asking for.
