It is amazing to hear people spreading lies about Islam like this. It is clear that the attacks against the Meccan caravans were not aimed at robbery.One hand chopped off, thousands of people are safe. Security and safety are very primordial issues in Islam. You need to feel safe, to leave your shop to go to pray and your mind is at rest because you know no one dares to come and steal your things. YOUR THINGS that you are working for, being tired to do, striving to make and earn a living, with honour and integrity. What right does this theif have to come and attack you and takes what does not belong to them? What right have they to destroy what you built? How dare they touch what is yours? Is not that violation to your efforts and hard work?
Why will I be going down the street, minding my own business then I get assaulted by a knife and robbed? How can this be permissible or forgivable?
Did you for a second think of the victim? No body should endure being a victim of an aggressor who shows no mercy towards their victims amomg which so many get badly injured or drop dead?
Islam protects the good not the evil. It protects the victim not the criminal. It insures safety not fear. It gives honour to hard work not to stealing.
Of course there are exceptions, you can't chop off the hands of a hungry who stole what to eat. But anyone whose purpose is to implement terror, to menace safety and to scare the h*** out of innocent people, any lazy bastard who does not want to work to earn money but enjoys scaring the innocent…well sorry but the devine law says these hands which attack the innocent should be chopped off. It is hard but not as hard as what happens to the victim, this physical, emotional, psychological shock that will remain there all life. Thieves are very dangerous people who should be punished severely and believe me if one hand is chopped off in front of everbody, others will think thousand times before attempting such a hideous inacceptable act and hence crime will see itself decreasing while safety will see a considerable increase.
Have you been to Mecca? Have you seen all the shops left open whose owners go to pray being one hundred per cent sure that no one would dare to touch what belongs to them.
Please, will you stop defending the criminal and start protecting people. Mind the victims..will you. If one day, you should live such a horrible situation or one of your dearest persons may it be your elederly father or your teenage daughter, I wonder what feeling will you have?
And if you say that you forgive, I say that you just don't love nor care about them and that your love is a pretence. Because forgiving such an act or putting the theif in jail for a month where he will exercise to grow more muscles just to get out and attack more innocent people…will you be happy to know that because of your “seemingly forgiving” attitude we have a loose criminal now?
Statistically, between chopping one hand off this thief and one hand of the other, years pass by! People get aware and stay away from stealing and we feel more safe as good people!
